For the time of year, I don’t think it can get much more English than this. At least, that was how I felt as I saw this vista in South Derbyshire, yesterday. I always get very thoughtful when I find scenes like this one; I think of so many young men from towns and villages, marching away to war, many of them never to return. Does anyone else feel this way? It's kind to share!
This Picture was taken yesterday afternoon. Do people still call this the bud haze? I hope they do, because no other term would be so descriptive of such a romantic time of year. In just a day or two, barren-looking woodlands become sacred temples. It's kind to share!
Or perhaps it was a good omen for that evening… Anyway, it was striking enough to make me pull in and reach for a camera! It's kind to share!
Well… it’s really week one for me, because I haven’t joined in with this before. But my last Silent Sunday picture was actually inspired by this passing shot a few days before:
OK, so DSLR quality it isn’t. But the picture was captured in a few seconds. The ‘best’ camera is always the one you have with you. I didn’t actually realise at the time how much atmosphere this shot would convey.
If you haven’t already, have a look at the other contributions to this meme, here. (The list is at the end of the post, after those lovely pumpkin pictures.)It's kind to share!
