Trees in FlowerAlthough I love the spring sunshine, rain can, in its own way, be lovely too. I actually find walking in the rain very therapeutic – as long as I don’t get too soaked! This was what I saw yesterday evening. I loved the scent of the flowers on the trees, as well as the abundance of sheer shape and line, including the patterns made by the rain on the path. A great way to unwind…

Ice on Wollaton Park LakeToday, as I was nearby, I went to look at the lake at Wollaton Park. It’s not very often that it freezes, but I knew it would have done this time. Although the thaw had now begun in earnest, there was an eerie sense of desolation, which I think the misty background conveys in this picture. There were actually very few people about.

Young GullsI saw these water birds yesterday afternoon (Saturday) on the lake at Wollaton Park, Nottingham – one of my favourite haunts, as some of you know. I think they are quite young seagulls who are finding the winter coastal weather a bit rough, but I’m not exactly sure what kind they are. If anyone can enlighten me, I shall be delighted!
