My Sunday Photo: 19 July 2015

MSP150719Once again, this shot is from a visit to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Wirkworth, Derbyshire. The unusual perspective here was only possible to obtain because a) the loco was coupled to the coach by its front (smoke-box) end, and b) the coach in use had a glazed door at the end. you’ll notice there is very little smoke; this is because this shot was taken while travelling down a steep incline, so very little power is required. Just an hour earlier, I had the experience of riding on the footplate of this same loco!

The Gallery: Week 80 – T is for…

Well, T is for Tara who gives us the prompts.  But you know that already.  Then again, T is for trees.  This was the subject for a photo gallery a while back, before this blog began, so I’m going to seize the opportunity now.  Any excuse for a tree picture!

And then again, T is for traction engines.  At a steam rally I visited recently, they came in various styles, and even different sizes altogether!
