Water Tanker at NightYesterday, I woke up to find that I was without one of the commodities that most of us in the Western world take for granted: water from our taps. It transpired that this was the result of a large main having burst. The necessary repair was no five-minute job, and the main supplies a small local reservoir for my area. Hence, this was the scene near where I live, yesterday evening. Water brought by tankers was being pumped into the local mains through a hydrant, so as to temporarily restore the supply. Being without water for several hours was an inconvenience, but it made me think of how many people in other parts of the world still have to travel for miles, every day, in order to get water!

It's kind to share!
